🌸💕 Self-Care Tips- Lockdown🌸💕

Happy March!

Since we have a lot of time on our hands the next couple of weeks I thought now would be a good time to discuss a few things that we can do to put some time and practice into our self-care. In times that are uncertain and we are all getting used to a new routine. There is nothing more important than taking some time out for some self-care.

  •  Take a bath – What a perfect time to use up all the bath bombs you have bought and not got round to using over the years. A bath is most certainly my favourite way to relax… I normally will put on a podcast or an audio book to keep me entertained purely because an actual book would terrify me that I would drop it.
Obviously I had to share again a photo of a funky bath bomb
  • Make a vision board-  This is something that I have done for the first time this year and is something that I found so fun to do. It allows you to focus on the things you want to achieve over the year, sometimes being able to visualise these things allows for stronger manifestation.
This is not my vision board as I didn’t want to share that but this is an example
  • Listen to your favourite podcast- Podcasts are something that I have gotten into as of recently and I am obsessed with Chris and Rosemary Ramsey’s Shagged, Married, Annoyed. It is such a heartwarming podcast that never fails to make me Rawr with laughter. I love how down to earth they come across and it is very much a welcome distraction.
I am an avid listener of these beautiful people. I feel you can’t help but love Rosie and Chris.
  • Create a new morning routine- A new morning routine may help to adjust to new patterns. Creating a routine that makes you want to get up in the morning could help your mental health. This is something I am still working on but so many people say that it makes such a difference. So why not get one put together whilst you can.
again not mine but a simple example
  • Plan something you want to do when this is all over- For me when this is all over I am in desperate need of a reunion with my uni friends because let me tell you after almost three years of having them within 10/15 minutes away not being with them sucks. I also when this is over want to plan a trip to see one of my favourite people even just for the day.
I cannot wait to make more memories with my favourite people
  • Organise your room- Time for the spring clean you have been putting off for months. I mean I am the worst for keeping things tidy but again this is something so many people have said makes a difference to how they are feeling. So whilst we have the time why not give it ago.
  • Take some time for skincare- Why not spend your time making sure you look after your skin. Maybe its time to put together that skincare routine you wish you had but put off! I again am not one who seems to be able to stick to a routine but also as someone who loves to wear and experiment with make up it is something I should really do.
  • Read a chapter of your favourite book- Reading becomes my favourite way to escape, so I felt it most certainly needed to be mentioned here. One of my favourite quotes about reading is “that’s the thing about books, they let you travel without moving your feet.” I feel this applies now more than ever. Whilst we can’t actually travel there’s nothing stopping us travelling in our minds from the power of a good book.
I just felt like this photo was so summery also a book recommended to me!
  • Write a list of things you love– Now seems like the perfect time to be practising gratitude and why not do this with a list of things you love and a list of things you are grateful for!
  • Take time to set goals for the future– Let’s work on being the best versions of us we can be. I say this but also why not set some goals for the future and work from there. I know everyones mental health has taken a hit the last few months so why not try and give us something new to focus on.
  • Journal– This is something I have been doing recently and I have to admit I am in love with being able to get my thoughts out on to paper. It makes me feel like there is less going on in my head.

I hope you find something on this list that will give you some inspiration of ways to practise self care. I hope you are all well and are keeping safe.

Love Always,

Gee xoxo

  1. This is such an important post right now. I’ve been having to work from home for a bit and I’m going stir crazy! I’m a big reader, so that helps me a lot. The weather is finally getting nicer, so I think just -standing- outside or taking a walk or sitting a lawn chair would be helpful.
