Amari and the Nightbrothers – BlogTour

Happy December!

We are back with Blogmas Day 21 but with something a little different we have another Book Tour but for a book I have been so excited to get my hands on! The newest Magical universe! Amari and the Nightbrothers! Once again I would like to thank Dave at The Write Reads for getting me involved in this tour! One of my favourites to date! I would also like to say thank you to B.B.Alston for having me on the tour and for writing a book I didn’t know I needed in my life but most certainly couldn’t live without!

*Disclaimer I was gifted an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review*

Amari Peters knows three things.

Her big brother Quinton has gone missing.
No one will talk about it.
His mysterious job holds the secret . . .

So when Amari gets an invitation to the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs, she’s certain this is her chance to find Quinton. But first she has to get her head around the new world of the Bureau, where mermaids, aliens and magicians are real, and her roommate is a weredragon.

Amari must compete against kids who’ve known about the supernatural world their whole lives, and when each trainee is awarded a special supernatural talent, Amari is given an illegal talent – one that the Bureau views as dangerous.

With an evil magician threatening the whole supernatural world, and her own classmates thinking she is the enemy, Amari has never felt more alone. But if she doesn’t pass the three tryouts, she may never find out what happened to Quinton . . .

WOW! In all honesty that is the only word to start of this review! I am astonished at how amazing this middle grade novel is! Anyone who knows me knows that I am always down to read books that are based around magic and a kick ass female character and let’s be honest Amari and The Night Brothers has this in abundance. There is so much I want to talk about with this book but I know that there is a high chance this will spoil it for everyone else so I am going to do my best to stop any spoilers!

I’ve seen it being comparied to Harry Potter, and for me, I can see where they come from but this book for me stands out on its own. Anyone who knows me knows that HP is something I am a little obsessed with! (Full Fledged Slytherin here!) But Amari and the nightbrother’s brings me into a completely new world of magic, mysteries and Weredragons YES I REPEAT Weredragons. This was something I didn’t know I needed but to be incredibly clear Weredragons are needed in my life.

Amari is an amazing protagonist, with one of the most distinct voices I’ve ever read, and her story from the moment we meet her sat outside the headteacher’s office is one I just new I was going to be invested in! I genuinely think we could use more characters like Amari! I love how Amari was introduced. The book would have been very different without her because she is quite literally the voice of the book! Amari captures your attention, but the rest of the cast are just as well written and developed and so believable as characters, and all are essential to the narrative in some way or the other.

I loved that although the magical elements were hidden from the ‘real’ world throughout this book they are woven into the ‘real’ world and we get to see how they are hidden! This is so so clever and possibly one of my favourite parts of the book.

This is a must add addition to anyone’s bookcase, adult or a child because everyone needs the magic contained in these pages. Who does not want to get lost in a world of magic, imagination and just pure incredible writing! I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for this series and I will be making sure this is a book I recommend to my Nephews and little step sister to read because I just know they will love it.

This has quickly been added to my favourite books of 2020 list!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Does this sound like a book you would like to read?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
