World Book Day 2021!

Happy March!!

It is the 4th of March and that can only mean one thing it is World Book Day! As a child this one of my favourite days of the year because it was an opportunity to dress up as my favourite book characters. If I am being honest it was pretty much the same costume every year, it was always Tracey Beaker for me as let’s be honest we all know that I had a little obsession with Jacqueline Wilson and her books.

I thought for World Book Day 2021 I would share with you a list of some of my favourite books from when I was a child/teen. I am sure some of these would be favourites of mine even now! Maybe I should go back and read them now.

CandyFloss – Jacqueline Wilson

I remember queuing with my mum when this book was released because I needed a copy!

Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne

Let’s be honest we all knew that this was going to be on here. My hard back copy of these stories is still today up there with one of my favourite books.

Grimms’ Fairy Tales by Brothers Grimm

I still have my special edition of this somewhere at my mums house but theses were some of my favourite books to read.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

This was one of my very first favourite books and I remember my teacher at infants school putting me in charge of the caterpillar because I had a little bit of a protective issue when it came to him.

The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy

Turns out I have always been a little obsessed with Witches who would have thought!

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

A lady my mum used to work with gifted me her hardback copy of this book a couple years back because she knew that it was one of my all time favourite stories and she was getting rid of it.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery

My dad bought me my first ever copy of this book and I just remember being utterly in love with this story. Maybe I should pick up a new copy.

I had so many more books that I loved growing up that this list could literally go on forever and not stop but I feel you may get a little bored if that was the case.

What was your favourite book growing up?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
