Illicit Affairs by Holly Dixon : A Book Review

Happy July!

To my gorgeous Holly and thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this for you. I am so proud of you and all your achievements. From the day I started All Things Gee you were right there with your support. I am so happy to be able to do the same for you my darling! congratulations again my love. I am so so proud of you and WHAT A BOOK.

Ava Archer had everything a woman could ever desire.

She was beautiful, rich, sociable, and free to do whatever she wanted between the sheets. Her job was easier than breathing when she worked as an assistant for her old man. Ava got everything she wanted and was used to getting her own way…

Until she met Nathaniel Brooks.

Order and control were all that Nate knew when he was a managing partner of the prestigious law firm Archer and Brooks. When his business partner takes ill, he must leave his comfortable Manhattan branch and tend to the firm in London. He didn’t foresee this change being problematic but then again…

He hadn’t yet met his fiery and tenacious assistant, Ava Archer.

In a battle for dominance, Ms. Archer would need to fall in line if she were to work under Mr. Brooks but there was just one problem: not all women are submissive.

When the clock strikes five, both would soon realise the difficulty in keeping things business as usual behind office doors…

Will Nate be able to maintain control over his heart?

Will Ava lose everything when she learns that for a lawyer, deception is their art?

My Thoughts:

Firstly a little note about the wonderful Holly Dixon, you will know already that I outright adore her and she is such a lovely human being, which is why I had to jump at the chance to review this for her. However this being said all thoughts are my own.

Now strap yourselves in it is about to get steamy.

Firstly I want to warn you that the majority of this book will give you a whole lot of Bi panic. However, it will leave you with some new fictional crushes.

If you used to be a wattpad reader (If you know, you know) you will love this book.

The thing is that I read Illicit Affairs in roughly about 2 days maybe a little less and I was obsessed with this book from the first page. Now you see from the moment we are introduced to Nate we are introduced to him knowing Avas first impressions but despite that my brain decided that I infact would develop a small thing for Nate until you get to the steamy scenes between them both and well god damn could I not decide.

Holly has always such a way with words and it is no different throughout this Illicit Affairs.

The characters in this book seem so real and as if you know them in person.

Aside from the steamy romance between Ava and her boss, Nate. Who it turns out I have a new found love for… Yes I am also aware that I should not love Nate but here we are with my questionable life choices. There are some hints of a mystery plot scattered throughout that in all honesty keeps you on your toes until the very end! You’ll gasp, you’ll moan, you may even shed a tear or two

Whilst reading this please remember to breathe. It turns out you may hold your breath without realising in some parts of the book. In addition to the feelings you have, there will be some shedding of tears.

If you’re looking for a spicy romance with a great sense of humor this is the book for you.

Read at your own caution it will start an obsession. You have been warned.

If you have not already go and follow Holly on TikTok and Instagram because the teasers for this book is something else.

Star Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This is a little sneak peak as publication is not until the 1st of September but go and grab yourself a copy. I swear it is worth it.

Do you think you would be team Ava or Nate?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
