Blogtober Day 2: Favourite Halloween Books

Happy October!

I hope you are all having a wonderful October so far! I know things are a little different this spooky season! However, this does me that we have had more time for reading and new hobbies! Just like last years blogtober I thought I would share with you some of my favourite books to read within the spooky season!

Dracula is an all time favourite and it is one of the best books for around Halloween! Dracula just adds to my obsession with Vampires but I am so excited now that I know that parts of this book were inspired by a book I mention a little later on. However Dracula is a classic!

Again it is no surprise but it is one that deserves all the credit! This is a family favourite that had to be mentioned but again I am so excited now that I know that parts of this book were inspired by a book I mention a little later on. Frankenstein is the a great story of how a little kindness can have the biggest impact.

The Castle Of Otranto:

Horace Walpole is responsible for writing this master piece of a first ever gothic novel. He wrote this novel after a dream he had after he spent the evening reading in the library of Strawberry Hill House. The story behind the inspiration for this story is almost as good as the story itself. I have a little bit of an obsession for Strawberry Hill House and the descriptions given by Horace Walpole just does the Castle of Otranto so much justice but all I think of is the simplistic beauty of Strawberry Hill house and the reasonings behind some of his design choices.

The Witches:

As a kid I used to love reading Roald Dahl books and one of my favourites was The Witches. It was only right to include it in my list of favourite books. Did you ever find yourself being reminded of the list of things that would tell you that someone was a witch…just me who checked for gloves… probably.

Practical Magic:

Now it was not until a couple of years ago that I actually watched the film and even less time before I read the book. But we all know that I just had to include this one on my list. Not only is is one of my favourite stories it has some of my all time favourite quotes and is just such a feel good book to read.

What is your favourite halloween book?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
