My Policeman – A Brighton Experience

Happy January!

I hope you are having a lovely January so far.

Back in May 2021, I received a message from one of my best friends asking if I was aware of the chaos unfolding on Twitter due to Mr Harry Styles filming in Brighton for My Policeman. Obviously, this led to a quick outfit change and running out of the door to meet her. We decided to go for a walk and see what we could find. In all honesty, we expected not to see a lot due to it being blocked off. We were however in a fit of laughter after spotting so many people bringing out their Harry Styles vibes in clothing and fashion. The power this man has.

My Policeman for those not aware is a novel written by the incredible Bethan Roberts that is being made into a motion picture with the most incredible cast. Not only are we getting Mr Harry Styles as a main character we have Emma Corrin and David Dawson. Who on a whole side note are some of the nicest people I have ever met. After a few days around locations, we saw David and he was super polite and genuinely so smiley and I cannot lie we fell in love with this man.

Not only did we have the most incredible experience getting to see some of the scenes being filmed but I met some of the most wonderful girls in the world. One of the days we were sat waiting to see if we could get a sneak peek and chatted to one of the security guards who I honestly think is a saint for dealing with the hysteria that followed. We were all sat on the floor and it honestly gave me vibes of old school One Direction days.

It became a running joke that I had an obsession with the security team and those working on set because by the end of the week we had learnt names and had several different conversations with them. The security teams were some of the nicest people I have met and let’s be real we were super jealous of those working on the set.

We may have only seen it and the cast from a distance but it did, however, provide us with some incredible memories and I will forever be grateful for the people I met because of the film.

On the final day on set, they had a set birthday and as we were some of the last people who stood around watching they offered us some cupcakes that were leftover from the celebrations. I cannot explain the emotions felt within this day but it was bittersweet to say the less.

Cannot wait to see the whole film.

Have you ever visited a location because it featured within a book or a film? If so where?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
