Summer Book Quotes

Happy June!

I hope you are having a wonderful June so far. As we know it is almost the start of summer… Officially. June is a crazy month not only is it the start of the summer, but it is also Gemini season so not only my birthday but the birthdays of some of my favourite people. June is a good month but a busy month.

I knew that for June I wanted to up the amount of content that was being put up during the month of June. However this meant that I had to do a little planning ahead and a lot of writing ahead of what I was planning.

I thought we would go back to one of my favourite posts to do and have a round up of some of my favourite book quotes about the summer!

You will know that I have done these before and I have tried so hard not to include quotes that have been used on my other post about this but some of them may have.

“I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.”

― L.M. Montgomergy, Anne of Green Gables

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

“In the summer, the days were long, stretching into each other. Out of school, everything was on pause and yet happening at the same time, this collection of weeks when anything was possible.”

― Sarah Dessen, Along for the Ride

“I have only to break into the tightness of a strawberry, and I see summer – its dust and lowering skies.”

― Toni Morrison, The Bluest Eye

“Summer afternoon — summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.”

— Henry James

“In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explodes, and every sunset is different.”

— John Steinbeck, The Winter of Our Discontent

“Summer has filled her veins with light and her heart is washed with noon.”

— C. Day Lewis
