Watermelon Day:

Happy August!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Summer and beginning to August!

According to Google August 3rd is Watermelon Day in America. Now to be clear I have no idea if this is true nor do I live in America. However this being said I read the words Watermelon Day and figured what better way to celebrate the occasion than talking about all things Watermelon and obviously this has to include everyone’s favourite fruit man (if you are not a fan this may not make sense, but those who get it, get it.)

Watermelon Sugar:

Let’s be incredibly honest about this there is no way we were about to celebrate Watermelon day without referencing our favourite fruit man and let’s not forget one of my favourite summer (all year round) anthems. I have no shame about my love for this man and have a lot to be thankful to him for. Due to him I have the pleasure of being friends with some incredible people.

I apologise for getting it stuck in your head (well actually not that sorry!)

Favourite Watermelon Body Spray:

This one is a little rogue and there was an incredible sense of nostalgia whilst writing about this. First because it was a brand that as a teen I would wear and nothing else. However would be unlikely to pick it up now until I was bought their watermelon body spray for my birthday.

I am obviously talking about So… Watermelon. I am obsessed and have repurchased twice. It is a perfect body spray for summer.

Favourite Watermelon Lip Balm:

Another thing that started due to being bought a lot of watermelon themed things for my birthday.

In the little box of themed gifts was the Nivea Watermelon Lip Balm… It is now a staple in my handbag.

Favourite Book with Watermelon in the Title:

There will be no surprise to you guys that I had to include some thing book themed. It will also be no surprise to you that the book of choice comes from this author. However it would be wrong to write a post about Watermelons and not include Watermelon by Marian Keyes.

Synopsis:

On the day she gives birth to her first child, Claire Walsh’s husband James tells her he’s been having an affair and now’s the right time to leave her. Right for who exactly? Exhausted, tearful and tiny bit furious, Claire can’t think what to do. So she follows the instincts of all self-respecting adults in tricky situations.. . . And runs home to Mum and Dad. But while her parents are sympathetic, Claire’s younger sisters are less so. Helen wants to share the new toy (she means baby Kate). While Anna is too busy having out-of-her-head experiences. So when James slips back into her life, desperate to put things right, Claire doesn’t know whether to take a chance on a past she’d feared she’d lost for ever or face an uncertain future on her own. But is she as on her own as she really believes?

Favourite Watermelon Lip Scrub:

Another addition that came from a birthday box of Watermelon themed things. I have found my new favourite Lush Lip scrub and obviously it is Watermelon Flavoured and if I am being honest it just had to be included in today’s post.

Favourite Watermelon Candles/Wax melts:

When looking for Watermelon Wax Melts it is my go to, to head to Etsy because let’s be real they have wax melts for everything you can think off. I have linked to some of my favourite Watermelon wax melts.

What are some of your favourite Watermelon themed things?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
