Book Lovers Day

Happy August!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the Summer!

I have been told recently that the 9th of August is Book Lovers Day so obviously we are celebrating… I mean in this case we are celebrating through a blog post but you know there is a likelihood I have picked up a new book to read as you know it would be rude not to. Especially today.

For the love of books:

My love of reading has gone through many stages over the years. My love of reading started at a young age where I would be known to pick up a book whenever I had the opportunity. Especially if it was sunny outside and I could read whilst in the garden with mum.

I then went through a “reading break” during secondary school where I would basically only read if I had to.

I then started university and fell back in love with reading both academic and for fun. I then proceeded to gain an incredibly large book collection and a never ending TBR. Safe to say that I wouldn’t change it for the world. After all, it kick started All Things Gee and that is something I will forever be grateful for.

Now don’t get me wrong I still have reading breaks but there is nothing more enjoyable than picking up a good book and a cup of tea and escaping the world outside.

Favourite reads of the year so far:
  • Conversations on Love- Natasha Lunn
  • The Viscount who loved me- Julia Quinn
  •  Illicit Affairs- Holly Dixon (Re-read)
  • The Testament of Loki- Joanne M. Harris

Incoming reviews on the above… Keep your eyes peeled.

Books TBR:

These are five of my incredibly long to be reads of 2022. I mean the TBR just keeps getting longer so I decided to only share five of them with you.

  • Theatre of Marvels- Lianne Dillsworth
  • Bigger Than Us- Fearne Cotton
  • Love Marriage – Monica Ali
  • Until I Met You – Amber Rose Gill
  • Welcome to Your Life – Bethany Rutter
Five of my favourite book quotes:

Like the majority of my lists this could go on forever but I decided to stick with the theme of five.

  • “You see, but you do not observe.” — Arthur Conan Doyle, A Scandal in Bohemia
  • “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” ― Albus Dumbledore
  • “Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”—The Minpins by Roald Dahl
  • “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?” —Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
  • “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” —Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

What are some of your favourite books or books you are looking forward to reading?

I cannot wait to check out some of your recommendations!

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
